Not Enough Time in the Day

Gah! It’s been almost a week since my last post, and I still haven’t caught up on replying to peoples’ comments. I haven’t forgotten about y’all — I’ll do it soon, I promise! :)

The last week wound up being really busy, but in a good way: the kind of busyness that involves seeing lots of some of my favorite people. We spent last Saturday with some good friends who we haven’t seen in months — and sweet fancy Moses, was it ever good to hang out with them and catch up. It’s amazing how restorative a day with friends can be, especially in a place like DC where it’s easy to feel isolated and lonely in a room full of people.

After that, my uncle (my mom’s brother, who we’re both incredibly close with) came down to DC for work and stayed with us for a few nights. I cooked up a storm for the two uber-tall, uber-hungry dudes in my house, and it was awesome to see him!

The next few days will be similarly (read: delightfully) bonkers, too: we’re seeing Thor with friends tomorrow after work, and then heading up north on Saturday morning for a farewell party for one of my besties whose husband just got a job transfer to Texas.

So, my schedule may be totally nuts these days, but it involves seeing some of my favorite people — so it’s worth the piles of dirty laundry and the nearly empty fridge.

It does, however, involve little to no blog activity, and that’s the only drawback. However! Things will calm down soon enough, and at that point we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Until then, though, have a wonderful Thursday and an awesome weekend!

What sort of things fall by the wayside when you get really busy?

Do you have big plans for the weekend?

  1. I hear that! I’ve really been trying to focus on my blog more recently- writing down ideas { have so many ideas} and just been wanting to cook more but there just isn’t enough time. Long work days and being 6 months prego just adds to my laziness when I get home now. lol.

I just try to take each day at a time; we can only do so much in a day, right? Meh.

This weekend is no plans at all, thank god! We have stuff to do though around house and all but I will be trying to focus on the blog. I totally hear you with the empty fridge and laundry–those things are always last when we are super busy!

    Have a great weekend!! :)

  2. I feel like everything (kind of) falls to the wayside when I’m busy. Everything gets “worked on” but it’s in maniacal sweeps that make no sense! When I look at my blog, I can easily tell times I’ve been busiest because their are either like 4 posts/month, or they are just terrible. Hope you find some down time soon, but happy to hear you’ve been having fun!

  3. Well busy lady I hope you have a blast with all your fun plans :) Getting out and about with friends is one of the best reasons there is to not blog in my book, and I can’t wait to hear about it when you get back :)

  4. It sounds like you are the perfect kind of busy! Don’t sweat the blog. We’ll all be here when things calm down. Just enjoy the quality time with friends and family. Big plans for the weekend? Hell yeah! I’m going to CRUSH 26.1 on Saturday!!

  5. Oh dear, my blog falls to the wayside when I get really busy… along with working out. I’m scheduling time for both, but not nearly enough for my liking.

Plans? Cleaning. Writing. Maybe watching a movie that Netflix is probably wondering if I lost…

  6. Don’t worry, everyone gets SUPER busy from time to time! And it’s all about managing that and prioritizing that…. Enjoy your personal life! :) I certainly do the same thing – blogging is super fun, and I do it WHEN I have time… :) Enjoy your upcoming plans my lovely friend!

  7. I’m so bad about blogging when I get busy. I hope you enjoyed your visit with your uncle & your upcoming time with the bestie. :)
